Water Damage Emergency Service- Portsmouth, NH
The need for water damage emergency service was not in the plans for this Portsmouth, New Hampshire (NH) hotel. They were just three short days away from a sold out weekend. Two weddings and a local festival had them booked to capacity. The hotel staff was excited. The place was buzzing with activity as everyone prepared for influx of guests. Everything seemed to be falling into place. That was until a sprinkler head mysteriously let go. One of the guest rooms took on hundreds of gallons of water. Once the fire suppression system was finally shut off the hotel was left with a huge flooded mess. Immediate water damage emergency service was needed.
Soil-Away Cleaning & Restoration was called to the Portsmouth hotel. The water damage emergency service crew was on site within an hour. Upon evaluation three guest rooms and the hallway had been affected. Water damage mitigation crews got right to work. Extraction trucks were setup to start removing the water from the saturated carpets. Other crew members worked at emptying the guest rooms. Furniture was removed to allow access to the floors and walls.
The guest room in which the sprinkler head burst sustained the most water damage. Nearly the entire room was drenched. Some of the furniture was ruined as well. The mattress had to be disposed of due to the significant water damage. Soil-Away water damage emergency service technicians assisted the hotel manager in taking inventory of non-salvageable items. Rush orders were immediately placed for replacement items. The Portsmouth hotel needed every room for the upcoming weekend. This flood could not stand in their way.
Water extraction from the three guest rooms took approximately one hour. The rooms were emptied of their furniture in about the same time frame. Water damage emergency service crews now turned their attention to drying the structure. Baseboards were removed from the bottom of the walls. Small ventilation holes were cut in the bottom of the sheetrock where the baseboard once was. Numerous commercial air movers and dehumidifiers were setup in each area. The crews work was nearly complete. It was now time for the drying equipment to work its magic. The Soil-Away crew instructed the hotel staff to allow the equipment to run non-stop. They would be back daily to monitor the drying progress.
After two full days of drying, the hallway and two of the guest rooms were completely dry. Rebuild crews re-installed the baseboard. As a final touch Soil-Away cleaned the carpets. On the third day Soil-Away crews worked with the Portsmouth hotel staff at putting the furniture back. The job was nearly complete. The final room took three full days to dry. It still finished before the busy weekend. With less than twelve hours before guest started arriving, Soil-Away completed the water damage emergency service.
Despite having the need for emergency water damage cleanup services, the Portsmouth hotel was back on their feet. With the help of Soil-Away’s water damage restoration crews they were able to recover from the setback. The rest of the weekend went off without a hitch. The hotel sold every room. The guests coming to New Hampshire for the festivities had a great stay. All was well at the Portsmouth hotel.
