Soil-Away Serves as Judge at NH DECA State Conference
Soil-Away Director of Client Services, Josh Solloway, recently served as a volunteer judge at the New Hampshire DECA State Career Development Conference. The annual event took place at the Radisson Center of NH in Manchester on February 13th. It drew hundreds of high school business students from around the state. Student participants competed in various events testing their entrepreneurial, management, and marketing skills.
“This was my second consecutive year participating as a judge,” states Solloway. “It is such a great opportunity for the students to challenge themselves and really learn a lot that they can apply to everyday life and their future.”
DECA’s mission is to “prepare emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe.” They are a “non-profit career-tech organization for high school students who are enrolled in marketing, business, and business related courses. It is a curriculum based, leadership focused organization which offers students a chance to develop their business, entrepreneurial, and management skills as well as develop social and team building capabilities.”
