One Day of Community Brings Smiles!
What do you get when you combine hundreds of volunteers, 40 community partners, 26 sponsors, 4,000 backpacks for school and thousands of local families? You get ear-to-ear smiles by everyone involved. This year’s One Day of Community in Manchester, NH delivered just that!
One Day of Community is an annual event designed to support local families with their back-to-school needs. It is a huge day-long event which boasts a carnival-like atmosphere. There is entertainment of all kinds from music, to games, to rides and of course food. Everything is free and is designed to provide families in need with an experience they can share with their friends and family.
During the event, which was on Saturday, August 5th, over 4,000 backpacks full of school supplies were distributed to families. Soil-Away was one several local companies to sponsor the event and for the first time hosted a table to participate in the festivities. Several members of the Soil-Away team handed out frozen treats and played games such as cornhole with the attendees.
